This code sets out the expectations of the Donor Board on how those who work for Arcadia (“our employees”) should behave in the conducting of Arcadia business.
Arcadia Ethical Policy:
- We expect our employees to act with honesty, integrity and fairness at all times.
- No form of bribery, including improper offers or payments, to or from our employees will be tolerated.
- The accepting of hospitality or gifts that might appear to place our employees under any obligation will be avoided.
- Our employees must comply with the provisions of all applicable domestic and international laws, standards and principles relating to anti-corruption.
- It is expected that our employees will avoid any contacts that might lead to, or suggest, a conflict of interest between their personal or other business activities and the business of Arcadia. Where our employees have a contact with a potential grantee, they will declare it and decisions will be taken in accordance with Arcadia’s normal practices but with minimal involvement from that individual employee.
- Where any of our employees are a member of the Board of another charity as a consequence of their involvement with Arcadia, they should resolve any possible conflicts of interest in accordance with Charity Commission practice.
- Our employees may have knowledge of Arcadia’s investment portfolio. They undertake not to make any personal investments based on information learned from Arcadia related investments.
- For the avoidance of doubt all our employees will provide to the Principal Adviser, a list of other business or charitable interests that they have.
- The Principal Adviser will report annually to the Board on any conflicts that may have arisen.
