Anthea Case CBE (Principal Adviser)

Anthea CaseAnthea Case is Chair of Heritage Link (the national umbrella body for historic environment voluntary bodies, a Commissioner for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), and Deputy Chair of Living East (the East of England Regional Cultural Consortium. She is also a member of the National Trust East of England Regional Committee, a Trustee of HEART (the Norwich Heritage and Economic Regeneration Trust) and a Trustee of the Institute for Philanthropy and the Lakeland Arts Trust.

Between 1995 and 2003 she was the Chief Executive of the National Heritage Memorial Fund and Heritage Lottery Fund. She was awarded a CBE in 2003 for services to heritage. Prior to this, her career was spent in Her Majesty’s Treasury.

Dr Fay Bound Alberti (Senior Policy Advisor)

Dr Fay Bound AlbertiDr Fay Bound Alberti is a cultural historian who has researched and published works in the histories of medicine, science and society. Fay has lectured at several British universities, and is a Senior Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London. Her special interests are interdisciplinary histories and the politics of gender, subjectivity, identity and emotion. Fay has published widely in books and journals and her most recent book Matters of the Heart: History, Medicine and Emotion was published by Oxford University Press in 2010. She is invited regularly to give public lectures for organisations such as the Wellcome Trust and the British Association for the Advancement of Science (BAAS), of which she also is a member. Having contributed to and reviewed a number of public and historical exhibitions, Fay continues to combine her academic work and training with an interest in the politics and practicalities of cultural conservation worldwide.

Bryony Horton (Environmental Policy Researcher)

Bryony Horton

Bryony Horton is a terrestrial ecologist who has worked on a range of applied research projects. For her doctorate she researched the relationship of eucalypt forest decline to beneficial symbiotic fungi and other ecosystem properties, to ascertain the best way to manage for healthy eucalypt forests in Tasmania, Australia. Bryony has also been involved with developing strategy to monitor world heritage area natural values in the face of climate change and has worked as a consultant in the areas of forest management, environmental development and as an expert botanist. Bryony has published in scientific journals in the areas of forest ecology, mycology and botany and has presented at the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens, UC Berkeley, and the Ecological Society of Australia’s annual conference, among others. Bryony’s main interests are ecosystem and community ecology, biodiversity conservation, finding solutions to manage our natural environment in a sustainable way, and working at the interface between science, society and policy.

David Sisam (Director of Administration)

David SisamDavid Sisam is the Director of Administration for Arcadia. David is the main contact person for the fund and works closely with the Donor Board, CAF and the various other advisers.




Lesley Dean (Administrator)

Lesley DeanLesley Dean is the Administrator for Arcadia. Lesley ensures all grant documentation is accurately maintained, liaises closely with CAF on grant payments and updates the charity database for when grants are awarded and paid.
