Central to E3G’s activities has been its work on climate change. It is a European organisation working at a global scale, with ongoing engagement and activity working to achieve sustainable development outcomes.
E3G are experts at identifying strategic intervention points, and assembling the coalitions and networks required to turn the possible into the actual. They provide strategic policy advice which gives unique access to government and institutional organisations at the highest level. E3G has designed processes on climate change strategy for a variety of organisations including Chatham House, and the UK Government.
This grant forms part of a larger, multi-donor funding request to support E3G’s climate change programmes over the next two years. The programmes are aimed at accelerating the transformation towards a global low carbon economy, at a pace consistent with limiting global temperature rise to 2°C.
The grant will support the launch of a trio of programmes designed to create the conditions that make possible a significant global climate change agreement in 2009-10; while also building the real policies needed to implement that agreement in key countries beyond 2010.
