Institute for Philanthropy

Grant Awarded:
$1,700,000

The Institute for Philanthropy has received an Arcadia grant of $1.7 million to be paid in five instalments from 2009 to 2013.

The grant will help support the Institute in its core work – to enhance the effectiveness of philanthropy in the UK and across the world through a programme of education and awareness-raising.

A key role of the Institute is to work with philanthropists to give them the knowledge and skills they need to be truly effective through education. The Institute also seeks to build donor networks to promote peer learning and collaboration, and raise awareness of philanthropy through the media, publications and meetings.

Among the programmes run by the Institute are Next Generation Philanthropy (education targeted at young people whose families have charitable trusts), Think Philanthropy (a project of original research and seminars) and the Philanthropy Workshop.
