Former Chief Executive of the National Heritage Memorial Fund and Heritage Lottery Fund, Anthea also serves as a Commissioner for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), as a regional chairman of the National Trust and as a trustee of a number of arts and heritage organisations.
In 2003 she was awarded a CBE for her services to heritage.
Dr Gerardo Fragoso joined Arcadia as Environmental Grants Manager in the spring of 2011. During the previous decade he was Head of the Species Programme at the United Nations Environment Programme’s World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC). In that role, he was responsible for the provision of information, analysis and advice to governmental, intergovernmental and philanthropic organisations concerned with the protection of endangered species and their habitats.
Gerardo has a diverse background. A graduate of the University of Cambridge and of ITESM in Mexico, his field of experience spans both temperate and tropical regions, marine and terrestrial environments, nature conservation and human development. He is also a qualified financial manager.
Harriet joined the Arcadia team in December 2011. She has extensive experience of both the grant giving and grant seeking worlds, and is well placed to help Arcadia and grant recipients manage projects efficiently.
As a trustee for 25 years, and at times Chair, of a grant-making foundation wanting funds to be well spent, she understands the issues involved in ensuring grants are managed effectively by both donor and recipient and the importance of good communication between the two.
Prior to joining Arcadia she worked for over 20 years on international environmental conservation supporting the implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements. Roles included: information management; development of grant proposals; identifying funding sources; managing projects to strict deadlines and accountability to funders.
