A message from Arcadia's founders: Covid-19

A message from our founders, Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin, to all of Arcadia’s grant recipients:

Dear friends, We know that you are dealing with the impact the spread of the coronavirus is having on your communities and work. This crisis, unprecedented in our lifetimes, affects us all. It is important that we support each other and help each other through.

We sincerely hope that you and your loved ones remain well. Our thoughts are with all who are concerned about the health and wellbeing of vulnerable family and friends. The measures brought in by governments across the world, including here in Britain, are likely to mean that, for the safety of yourselves, your families and colleagues, and the communities you work with and live in, you will have to change how you work, reduce the scope of your work, or indeed delay it until the crisis is over. The Arcadia team are working from home, but are still available by email or phone.

We are writing now to assure you that Arcadia’s ability to support you will not be affected by the current chaos in the financial markets. Arcadia’s grant managers have already been in touch about the challenges you face and their impact on the valuable work you are doing. We also know that the position is changing rapidly and that some of you might face illness, or even grief, at this time. Protecting your own health, and the health of those most at risk, must be your priority. Please keep in touch and let your grant manager know where meeting our grant conditions may be difficult right now. We will do our best to be flexible and help you through this. Stay safe and well.

Our very best wishes in these difficult times.

Warm regards,

Lisbet and Peter
