SPARC (the Scholarly Publishing and Resources Coalition), a US-based open access advocacy organization, is one of Arcadia’s grantees. Our funding to SPARC and OA.Works is via New Venture Fund, which acts as a fiscal sponsor.
Heather Joseph, SPARC’s Executive Director, also sits on our Advisory Board. The Advisory Board advises on proposals but all decisions are taken separately by our Donor Board. We maintain a register of interests of our Advisory Board members. Board members do not see or comment on proposals where there may be a real or perceived conflict of interest.
